Our Delicious story
The Fish Basket is the creation of Peter and Elaine Shanahan.
We are serving fresh fish & chips locally sourced from West Cork.
Cooking is an art and patience a virtue. Careful shopping, fresh ingredients and an unhurried approach are nearly all you need.
There is one more thing - love. Love for food and love for those you invite to your table.
With a combination of these things, you can be an artist.

June 10, 2019 We had a lovely walk along the beach and stopped for some food. Everything was beyond delicious. Fish tacos, mushroom soup, shrimp scampi, to name a few. The freshest ingredients. All came with delicious brown bread. We will definitely be returning. Noreen Folan

Both dishes were amazing. So fresh , just as fish should be. And real chips: not from a frozen bag...

October 29, 2018 This is a hidden gem. On our way to Skibbereen we made a special detour to here. Our 1st visit and we were not disappointed. On the strand with fab views we were able to walk off our dinner. The decor is quirky and fun. At peak times you may have to wait for table but so worth it. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly. We had 1 of the sharing platter the nicest and freshest fish I think I've ever tasted. very reasonably priced. Home made chips were yum. will definitely be going here again. Sharon Naughton

September 15, 2018Myself,husband and two boys went there tonight! The food was wonderful and the coffee very good . Staff was very friendly and helpful. We also was very impressed with location and the play pit for the lads. Toilet was very clean and I was surprised how chilled out the place was. We will be back as this is local to us and the fresh cod was the best we have had in some time. Great place well done x

2 John Dory bring your own wine magic night out.Our friends had a share plate of hake scampi and squid.
All in all great food served and cooked by people who know how to source great fish and cook with the care.
on the shore line of one of West Cork's most beautiful beaches.
