The Fish Basket is the creation of Peter and Elaine Shanahan.
We are serving fresh fish & chips locally sourced from West Cork.
Cooking is an art and patience a virtue. Careful shopping, fresh ingredients and an unhurried approach are nearly all you need.
There is one more thing - love. Love for food and love for those you invite to your table.
With a combination of these things, you can be an artist.

July 20, 2015 - Enjoyed a fabulous lunch in the Fish Basket yesterday, sandwiched in between 2 walks on the spotless, wild & wonderful beach. Helena was very welcoming & I enjoyed the Special of the day - HUGE prawns & crab claws in garlic butter with chips! I was in Heaven - Looking forward to going back!

December 1, 2018Fish was beautiful, cod, I don't eat cod, but person who had it said it was very good. Shame the chips were the frozen variety. Have to have fresh chips for a good "fish and chips" . I had a burger, which itself was lovely. Unfortunately, it was saturated with some kind of sauce and cheese added, which I did not ask for or want. I will be back there and be more specific when I order. Fresh chips please.
