Our Delicious story
The Fish Basket is the creation of Peter and Elaine Shanahan.
We are serving fresh fish & chips locally sourced from West Cork.
Cooking is an art and patience a virtue. Careful shopping, fresh ingredients and an unhurried approach are nearly all you need.
There is one more thing - love. Love for food and love for those you invite to your table.
With a combination of these things, you can be an artist.

We were directed to The Fish Basket a couple of years ago when you were in the van and we were very impressed with the scampi and chips! Rediscovered you yesterday at Long Strand and it was as impressive. Portions were very generous and the food was gorgeous. Congratulations on the new location and best wishes for 2019. February 3, 2019Fish was beautiful, cod, I don't eat cod, but person who had it said it was very good. Shame the chips were the frozen variety. Have to have fresh chips for a good "fish and chips" . I had a burger, which itself was lovely. Unfortunately, it was saturated with some kind of sauce and cheese added, which I did not ask for or want. I will be back there and be more specific when I order. Fresh chips please.
