Our Delicious story
The Fish Basket is the creation of Peter and Elaine Shanahan.
We are serving fresh fish & chips locally sourced from West Cork.
Cooking is an art and patience a virtue. Careful shopping, fresh ingredients and an unhurried approach are nearly all you need.
There is one more thing - love. Love for food and love for those you invite to your table.
With a combination of these things, you can be an artist.

Both dishes were amazing. So fresh , just as fish should be. And real chips: not from a frozen bag...

August 12, 2017Absolutely gorgeous food. Well worth a visit. Kids loved the hens, pigs + sand area. Selection of fish + chips just delicious. We ate here twice in our few days in Clonakilty. It was just that good we had to go back!

August 9, 2018 Not what we were expecting, so much more. Beautiful crispy batter on perfectly cooked fish, mussels to die for and if you didn't want fish and chips, other great choices available. We all agreed it was the best seafood around. Really friendly and helpful people and we were also able to sit outside with our dog, who enjoyed it as well. Can't wait to go again. Jean Healy
