Our Delicious story
The Fish Basket is the creation of Peter and Elaine Shanahan.
We are serving fresh fish & chips locally sourced from West Cork.
Cooking is an art and patience a virtue. Careful shopping, fresh ingredients and an unhurried approach are nearly all you need.
There is one more thing - love. Love for food and love for those you invite to your table.
With a combination of these things, you can be an artist.

July 24, 2017 Not what we were expecting, so much more. Beautiful crispy batter on perfectly cooked fish, mussels to die for and if you didn't want fish and chips, other great choices available. We all agreed it was the best seafood around. Really friendly and helpful people and we were also able to sit outside with our dog, who enjoyed it as well. Can't wait to go again.

1 star for fresh fish - avoid "platter - enough for 2" - ?? 2 toddlers perhaps - minus 4 stars for poor value

August 18, 2015 After a lovely walk on the Long strand popped in here for breakfast... The place was packed ... Lovely atmosphere friendly staff and was so great to see the owner Peter having a friendly word with all ... Would highly recommend the scones and flat white were scrumptious... Looking forward to my next visit ... 10 outta 10

Lovely food,bit disappointed with the sharing plate in comparison to ordering your own,a lot smaller portion but was tasty regardless.
