Our Delicious story
The Fish Basket is the creation of Peter and Elaine Shanahan.
We are serving fresh fish & chips locally sourced from West Cork.
Cooking is an art and patience a virtue. Careful shopping, fresh ingredients and an unhurried approach are nearly all you need.
There is one more thing - love. Love for food and love for those you invite to your table.
With a combination of these things, you can be an artist.

We were directed to The Fish Basket a couple of years ago when you were in the van and we were very impressed with the scampi and chips! Rediscovered you yesterday at Long Strand and it was as impressive. Portions were very generous and the food was gorgeous. Congratulations on the new location and best wishes for 2019.

It was mad busy but we got a nice little table for two; waited about thirty minutes for out food but it was well worth the wait; no fuss, no frills just honest, simple and tasty food in a fab location. An absolute cracker of a business.

The fish in batter was cooked to perfection Lovely outside seated area with amazing view over Rosscarbrey. And great for families as they have a sand pit and some chickens and pigs �
