Absolutely gorgeous food. Well worth a visit. Kids loved the hens, pigs + sand area. Selection of fish + chips just delicious. We ate here twice in our few days in Clonakilty. It was just that good we had to go back!

We are so delighted to have the Fish Basket so close by . We had a fabulous lunch today:
Scampi and chips
And crab claws and mussels .
Both dishes were amazing. So fresh , just as fish should be. And real chips: not from a frozen bag...
Great addition to local food scene.

June 30, 2017 Friendly attentive staff in beautiful surroundings and that’s before my delicious food even arrived. I got the fish tacos. They were so fresh and tasty I had them devoured in minutes. I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend stopping here.

June 9, 2019 We had a lovely walk along the beach and stopped for some food. Everything was beyond delicious. Fish tacos, mushroom soup, shrimp scampi, to name a few. The freshest ingredients. All came with delicious brown bread. We will definitely be returning.

2 John Dory bring your own wine magic night out.Our friends had a share plate of hake scampi and squid.
All in all great food served and cooked by people who know how to source great fish and cook with the care.
on the shore line of one of West Cork's most beautiful beaches.
Looking forward to returning soon.

July 24, 2017On Sunday 16th July, a group of ~35 of us rocked up, impromptu, to the Fish Basket. We were several nationalities visiting from the International Space University. The staff responded wonderfully, and with the best attitude. They took our orders patiently, as some of us had little English. Food was delivered efficiently and was beautifully fresh, crispy batter on the fish and perfectly cooked chips, followed by a slice of divine chocolate cake. The location was perfect, beautiful view over rosscarbery, bathroom facilities, and even coffee! For some it was their first experience of fish and chips, others were fish and chip veterans, but everyone agreed the food was excellent! Thanks to everyone at the fish basket for their amazing hospitality and for making us all feel so welcome, oh and the full tummies! ��
