The Fish Basket is the creation of Peter and Elaine Shanahan.
We are serving fresh fish & chips locally sourced from West Cork.
Cooking is an art and patience a virtue. Careful shopping, fresh ingredients and an unhurried approach are nearly all you need.
There is one more thing - love. Love for food and love for those you invite to your table.
With a combination of these things, you can be an artist.

After a lovely walk on the Long strand popped in here for breakfast... The place was packed ... Lovely atmosphere friendly staff and was so great to see the owner Peter having a friendly word with all ... Would highly recommend the scones and flat white were scrumptious... February 2, 2019 Pleased to visit The Fish Basket in these premises. A step up from a car park by the N71. Have been looking forward to coming here on our holiday in Ireland. The fish tacos were excellent. Friendly service.

June 11, 2019- What a great place. Front of house lady is very friendly and welcoming. It was mad busy but we got a nice little table for two; waited about thirty minutes for out food but it was well worth the wait; no fuss, no frills just honest, simple and tasty food in a fab location. June 9, 2019 Fabulous food served by the sea on the beautiful Long Strand. Delicious fresh fish ! The restaurant is in a rustic wooden hut at the entrance to the beach, it’s well worth a visit you won’t be disappointed. Susan Ralph
